28th Nov 00-NEWS FLASH-OAKWOOD TO GET VEKOMA COASTER According to an industry insider Oakwood are planning on adding a new roller coaster. Originally it was thought that the new coaster would be another wooden coaster to stand along side there would famous Megaphobia wooden coaster. But know it appears that Oakwood are about to sign a contract with the world famous Vekoma for a new steel roller coaster. Currently there are no further details on this ride or what type of ride Oakwood are purchasing. Vekoma Currently manufactures a host of roller coasters from the hugely successful Boomerang and SLC to custom designed looping coasters. Vekoma also made the headlines by opening the worlds first Flying Coaster at Paramount’s Great America in the US. Vekoma are also working on three prototypes which include the Super Boomerang, The Hammerhead Stall and the Tilt Coaster all which are set to debut in the next couple of years. What ride type Oakwood are planning is anyone’s guess but you can be sure that Roller Coaster UK will have the news first.

28th Nov 00-NEW UK THEME PARK? This article has been taken from thrillride.com- “There has been a theme park rumoured in the North West London/ Watford area in England. Now there has been a large plot of land cleared near the long rumoured site in a very typical spot for a British theme park....i.e. very good transport links yet still rural. I've yet to research this further but is looking very hopeful as there has been confirmed interest from a number of theme park companies including six flags and WB both eager to open their first branch in this country.” Can this be true? Warner Brother planned a movie world to open in 1999 in a different part of London but the locals were against it and the plan was turned down. Since the same company owns Warner Brother Movie World and Six Flag parks so I think a Warner brothers park is more likely than a sixth flags park. The reason for this is Six Flags never build their own parks. More news on this as we get it.

5th Dec 00 GoodBye to the Vampire :(
Many rumours say that the Vampire ride at Chessington World of adventures is being removed as we speak! Some have heard that it will come back either year 2001 or 2002 completely re-done, but I believe not as it was a costly ride and had a high break down record. Although I still dont believe the Vampire is dead.. well not yet anyway, as it wouldn't suprise me if within a couple of years it returned as a new ride with the same name, eg. The Vampire; second blood! or something crazy like that. Any way please don't give up hope in chessington as it isnt the end, infact it is only the beggining.
